Reporting to the Sr. Manager, PMO, the Program Manager, Sub-Contracts is the primary point-person responsible for planning, executing, and delivering contracted corporate projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with specifications. To achieve these important goals, the Program Manager, Sub-Contracts will define project requirements and scope, acquire project resources, and supervise the efforts of project team members. Efficient delivery of project deliverables, effective quality control, clear communication of expectations to stakeholders, and reporting are critical tasks that must be performed throughout each project's lifecycle.


Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with engineering, technical sales and production teams to determine sub-contract requirements
  • Identify potential sub-contractors and develop and maintain relationships with vendors.
  • Formulate innovative acquisition strategies for sub-contracts
  • Manage the sub-contract process from the beginning to end of the project, including drafting, soliciting, selecting, managing and closing a wide-range of sub-contracts
  • Meet with designers to obtain requirements and communicate requirements to sub-contractors.
  • Work as a liaison to develop schematic designs.
  • Manage relationships and negotiate contracts with third party contractors.
  • Communicate effectively and with strong attention to detail to ensure that needs are understood and met by sub-contractor, manage risks and schedules.
  • Work together with sub-contractors to ensure that product is fit for purpose.
  • Establish and deliver mechanisms for tracking project progress and reporting to stakeholders via a formal communications plan.
  • Conduct stakeholder meetings and forums in order to solicit feedback, input, and expectations; incorporate these into project plans.
  • Adhere to established methodologies for project management.
  • Produce regular reports (status, escalations, etc.) on the progress of projects; deliver these reports during regular stakeholder meetings.
  • Track all project costs to ensure completion within budget; procure extra budget funding where necessary.
  • Closely monitor the efforts and billing of third-party workers, such as consultants, contractors, and other specialists.
  • Identify and resolve conflicts within project teams and associate work; create contingency plans to mitigate risk.
  • Manage project dependencies.
  • Conduct project postmortems in order to identify areas for improvement; make recommendations based on findings.


Education / Certifications:

  • University degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.



  • Direct work experience in project management.
  • 10-15 years of work experience in the electronics industry.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Skilled at capturing detailed requirements and SOW.
  • Outsourcing expert with a degree of contract experience.
  • Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods.
  • Familiarity with project management software.
  • Highly effective negotiation, diplomatic, and conflict resolutions skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all types of staff, including technical, professional, and upper management.
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to create and edit project documents, materials, and presentations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with sub-contractors, business units, corporate departments, key managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Persuasive and motivating, with a strong focus on managing consultants.

Citizenship Requirements:

WOLF is a military and aerospace manufacturer requiring strict adherence to CGP and ITAR requirements.
