Summary

Reporting to the CEO of WOLF Advanced Technology Canada Inc., the Architect, IT and Security will lead the IT department and manage our IT Systems. The Architect will be responsible for developing IT services and solutions for WOLF and designing communications, security, networking and storage strategies.  

 

Job Duties

  • Oversee, manage and direct the day-to-day operations of the IT and Security team, including providing direct supervision of two full-time staff members.
  • Design and document security architecture and security zones for IT solutions and systems
  • Educate and communicate security requirements, policies, standards and procedures to business/internal stakeholders as it relates to projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Improving processes around Information Systems and Security both physical and digital footprint of the organization.
  • Research and improve knowledge base of current technology advancements, trends and directions and identify potential threats.
  • Develop Information Security policies aligned with the organization.
  • Act as the primary contact during information security incidents and investigations by coordinating actions and reporting.
  • Scoping use cases and developing a solution to accommodate the changes needed for the infrastructure.
  • Handle any escalations from the helpdesk to ensure proper resolution.
  • Working with the Engineering team to ensure the firmware development is completed using safe and clean code.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • Post secondary degree with a bachelors degree or diploma in Computer Science or IT, or a related field.
  • 5+ years hands-on experience in an IT role.
  • Cisco Certifications would be considered an asset.
  • Microsoft/Linux Systems Certifications would be considered an asset.
  • Cyber security training and/or certification would be considered an asset.
  • Proficient with Layer 2 and Layer 3 network protocols and hands-on experience troubleshooting network issues.
  • 5+ years experience in monitoring security alerts and following-up with investigations and actions on any potential threats.
  • Experience in Windows and Linux server administration.
  • Experience with securing Active Directory, fileservers, etc.
  • Experience with Extended Detection and Response for endpoints, network and cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience using SIEM, Firewalls, IPS, DLP, Antivirus/Anti-malware in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Email, HTTP, SSL, OSI Model and TCP/IP protocols and applications.
  • Expert level knowledge of Microsoft server software.
  • Expert level knowledge of Microsoft High Availability Systems.
  • Knowledge about M365 with DLP for e-mail and IAM with Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework (i.e. NIST 800-171) and CMMC Standards.
  • Experience in vulnerability assessment tools such as Nessus, Qualys and Nexpose.
  • Excellent written skills in English with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience managing and supervising technical teams.
  • Self-starter with outstanding organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to build relationships and rapport quickly.
  • Organized, detail-oriented and comfortable multitasking.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to a dynamic environment.

 

Working Conditions

  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to commute to Stouffville. This is a fully on-site role.
  • Must be capable of operating in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with lots of different projects arising.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position while working with a computer for long periods of time.

 

Citizenship Requirements

WOLF is a military and aerospace manufacturer requiring strict adherence to Canadian CGP and American ITAR requirements.
