WOLF Advanced Technology announces new XMC boards which integrate Pascal GP107, 2.3 TFLOP GPUs, designed to operate in harsh aerospace and defense environments. These new, chip-down XMC boards are tested to meet MIL-STD-810 and MIL-HDBK-217, and meet the quality standards of IPC-A-610 Class 3 and IPC 6012 Class 3. The NVIDIA Pascal GP107 provides excellent performance per watt with an extremely impressive 46 GFLOPS/Watt.
Three models are available: a video output (VO) model, an enhanced video output model (SDI-VO) and a full video processing unit (VPU) which supports both input and output (VIO). All models include an extended operating temperature from -40° to +85°C. Air cooled and conduction cooled options are available for all models.
The XMC-GP107-VO (WOLF-3176) modules are WOLF’s most power efficient Pascal-based graphics and compute embedded XMC boards. This module supports up to four independent DisplayPort 1.4 output pipes with support for HDR video and 10-bit color depth. With a maximum display resolution of four 4K 4096x2160 @120Hz displays or four 5K 5120x2880 @ 60Hz displays these boards can meet demanding multi-display requirements. Compute and deep learning inference applications can benefit from CUDA Toolkit 8 and CUDA Compute 6.1 support.
The XMC-GP107-SDI-VO (WOLF-3177) modules are enhanced video output modules which include video format conversion, providing support for both 3G-SDI output and CVBS/STANAG 3350 analog output, as well as providing a flexible platform for MCOTS requirements that include alternate video formats. With the release of the Pascal GPU architecture NVIDIA GPUs no longer include native support for analog output. This board provides continued support for legacy analog outputs as well as support for cutting edge digital formats.
The XMC-GP107-SDI-VIO (WOLF-3170) modules are full video processing units (VPU) which provide video input and video output (VIO). These boards provide an enormous amount of functionality on a single xmc module by integrating both a powerful Pascal GPU and WOLF’s Frame Grabber eXtreme (FGX) capture engine. Combining these technologies on an XMC module provides capture, process, encode and display functionality on a single board, which eliminates the potential SBC data rebroadcast traffic jams that can occur with a 2-board solution. By using a single full-featured board aerospace and defense companies can significantly reduce overall system costs while meeting their SWAP targets.

The XMC architecture is diverse, spanning custom carrier cards, VPX platforms and differing input / output methodologies. WOLF modules come with factory configuration options to solve virtually all system integration challenges. Typical options include PMC or XMC rear connectors, thermal dissipation threshold, and module coating, to name a few. These modules automatically detect and support VPWR of +5V or +12V, come with configurable power control options, are configurable for ANSI VITA 42 (XMC 1.0) or ANSI VITA 61 (XMC 2.0), and can be configured for outputs to front and/or rear ports. Further options are possible, such as pin mapping changes, PMC rear connector, enhanced cooling technologies and alternate video interfaces.
