WOLF Announces Three New Chip-Down NVIDIA Turing™ Modules

Stouffville, Ontario, August 21, 2019

WOLF Advanced Technology (WOLF) is pleased to announce three new VPX products as part of a High-Performance Embedded Computing (HPEC) family.

“Our modules are deployed to missions where reliability and performance save lives,” said Greg Maynard, CTO of WOLF. “This new set of products also adds support for SDI, ARINC 818-2, CoaXPress, CVBS, and other analog and digital sensor capture and display interfaces with the addition of our FGX technology.”

The first set of products will include the VPX6U-RTX5000E-DUAL-CV, the VPX3U-RTX5000E-CV, and the VPX3U-RTX3000E-CV.

Improved AI Inference at the Edge

Applications that require radar signal analysis, synthetic vision, and object recognition can benefit by making use of the high-performance inferencing support provided by the Turing GPUs. A single RTX5000 provides 384 Tensor Cores, 3,072 CUDA cores, 22 TFLOPS of peak single-precision (FP16) performance, 178.4 INT8 TOPS, and 356.8 INT4 TOPS. WOLF believes these new modules will help drive the next wave of sophisticated AI acceleration at the edge.

WOLF Plans for 3U VPX, 6U VPX, and XMC

WOLF’s product roadmap includes additional chip-down 3U VPX, 6U VPX, and XMC modules that will enable video capture and display. These products will enable military, aerospace and defense applications to use best-in-class features, a variety of bus architectures and available software libraries for GPGPU and AI inference.

WOLF Quality for Military and Aerospace

The latest WOLF modules will be designed to pass the standards required by aerospace and defense applications including MIL-STD-810 and DO-160 environmental tests. They are being manufactured to IPC-A-610 CLASS 3 and IPC 6012 CLASS 3 for high-reliability electronic products and IPC J-STD-001 soldering standards. These modules are designed to operate within a temperature range of -40° to +85°C and maximum operating power can be configured to meet SWaP requirements. Conformal coating options are available (e.g., Parylene, Humiseal, others on request) to further protect boards.

WOLF Support for Open COTS Standards Initiatives

Factory configurable options can be used to maintain compliance with open COTS standards initiatives, including E-OSA, SOSA, HOST, and CMOSS.
